Worldwide group of leading automotive designers and design educators honor the ultra-exclusive Kaveya, which boasts up to 1,000HP and industry-first Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) technology

January 17, 2025, Irvine, Calif — The 18th EyesOn Design Awards, recognizing exceptional design in production and concept vehicles that made their public debut between August ‘23–‘24, has bestowed the Karma Kaveya with the EyesOn Design Award for Best Production Vehicle. The EyesOn Design Awards convenes leading designers and design educators to determine the most significant production and concept vehicles, and is among the automotive industry’s highest honors.

Due in 2026, the Karma Kaveya is draped in carbon fiber bodywork with butterfly doors, offering up to 1,000HP of pure electric power with estimated pricing from $300,000 (USD). Kaveya’s dramatic, scene-stealing looks begin with the Comet Line – the central hallmark of Karma Automotive’s new design language – which forms a wake from the Kaveya’s nose through its bonnet, enshrouding its cockpit then tapering downwards to its conclusion through the butterfly doors, capturing an aura akin to a stealth jet. Its interior, evocative of spaceflight, is built to suit each client’s every demand in concert with Karma Design.

“The Karma Kaveya will be unlike any other car in the world, and we’re thrilled and honored that EyesOn Design has named Kaveya the Best Production Vehicle of 2024,” says Nicholas David, Vice President of Global Design, Karma Automotive. “From the very start, the design mantra for Kaveya was to draw upon absolutely no other vehicle in existence for its inspiration, but rather to forge a new path with wholly original ideas,” continues David, “thereby setting forth this benchmark, ultra-luxury, high-performance GT which establishes the best-in-class design caliber for Karma Automotive’s vehicles to follow.”

“The Karma Kaveya’s exceptional beauty is more than skin deep, as together with its design and levels of client customization not seen before even in the ultra-luxury segment, our super-coupe will be underpinned by industry-first Software-Defined Vehicle technology developed in partnership with Intel Automotive to deliver an unparalleled driving experience,” says Marques McCammon, President, Karma Automotive. “Both intellectually and aesthetically, the Karma Kaveya is a world apart, and we’re deeply thankful to EyesOn Design for naming it Best Production Vehicle.”

The jury for the EyesOn Design Awards includes many of the most respected voices in the design and automotive industries, including: Anne Asensio, Vice President, Design, Dassault Systèmes; Ian Callum, Director of Design, CALLUM; Wayne Cherry, Vice President, Design (Retired), General Motors; Kemal Curić, Global Executive Design Director, Ford Motor Company; Tom Gale, Executive Vice President (Retired), Chrysler; Dale Harrow, Professor, Chair and Director, IMDC Royal College of Art; Dave Marek, Executive Advisor, R&D, Honda; Tom Matano, Executive Director, School of Industrial Design, Academy of Art University; Victor Nacif, Chair of Design, NewSchool of Architecture and Design; Camillo Pardo, Auto Designer, Art and Development Inc.; Steve Pasteiner, President, Advanced Automotive Technologies; Charles (“Chuck”) Pelly, Chief Creative Officer, Intersection, Inc.; Joel Piaskowski, Global Design Director, Ford Motor Company; Michael Simcoe, Senior Vice President, Global Design, General Motors; Paull Snyder, Chair of Transportation Design, College for Creative Studies; Jack Telnack, Vice President, Design (Retired), Ford Motor Company; Mark Trostle, Sr., Chief Designer, Creative Services, Roush; Mark Trostle, Jr., Vice President, RAM and Mopar Design, Stellantis; and Todd Willing, Head of Design, Ford Motor Company.
